New media and me…

New media (Facebook, blogging, youtube) has effected my life in mostly positive ways, but not in any way that is enriching or predicated on necessity. Of course it’s wonderfully useful to connect to people with Facebook, and it’s great to get your ideas out there on a blog or on youtube, but I wouldn’t exactly call them necessary or life changing in a way that would make my existence fundamentally different, or I would be somehow defecient without them. Maybe I’m just old fashioned that way?

  1. Yea man, I agree. I think they’re cool and all, but I just don’t think they work for everyone, myself included. It’s overrated if you ask me.

  2. I definitly agree with what you’re saying also. Although I do have a facebook, I could live without it. If you want to stay connected with people, I think there are other forms of doing it… Like actually interacting one-on-one. Good thoughts!

  3. Yeah, I also think i can live without facebook or blogs. Cell phone is enough to get in touch with my friends and family. It’s good that we can contact and connect more easily via social media;it’s also exciting to come across some surprising findings; but it doesn’t mean we can’t live without them~ at least for me!
